Veteran alone (no dependents): 10% $180.42, 20% $356.66, 30% $552.47, 40% $795.84, 50% $1,132.90, 60% $1,435.02, 70% $1,808.45, 80% $2,102.15, 90% $2,362.30, 100% $3,938.58. With spouse only (examples): 30% $617.47, 50% $1,241.90, 70% $1,961.45, 100% $4,158.17. SMC-K add-on is $139.87. Use the pay chart for full dependent combinations, and always verify on VA.gov.

Yes — because of rounding and special programs. Multiple ratings can round to 100%, and veterans who cannot work due to service-connected disabilities may qualify for TDIU, which pays at the 100% rate even if the schedular rating is lower. Back pay (retroactive benefits) is compensation owed from your effective date up to the date the VA starts paying you regularly. The amount depends on your rating history, effective date rules, dependents, and any SMC.
